55 STITCHES ACROSS  APPROX 45 - 50”, SINGLE CROCHET LOOSELY, WITH A SIZE Q HOOK 

OR

                                                                       

                                                                         KNIT LOOSELY, WITH SIZE 19 KNITTING NEEDLES

100 - 110 ROWS  APPROX  5'5" - 6’ long

WHEN COMPLETE, CHAIN AROUND THE OUTER EDGE WITH THICKER GAGE PLARN.

USE THE SAME GAGE PLARN TO CROCHET TIES ONTO THE END OF THE MAT.

PLARN
(Strips of Plastic Bags Looped Together To Be Used As Yarn)

1. FOLD/ STRAIGHTEN OUT PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS SO THEY LOOK AS THEY DID WHEN THEY WERE NEW.

 

 

2. FOLD IT TOGETHER, WIDTH WISE IN HALF AND THEN IN HALF AGAIN.  

 

3. CUT OFF THE BOTTOM SEAM AND THEN CUT STRIPS 1 ½ - 2” WIDE UP TO THE NOTCH/ HANDLES.

.

 

4. OPEN THE STRIPS AND THEY SHOULD BE A CONTINUOUS CIRCLE.

5. TAKE TWO STRIPS, LOOP THEM TOGETHER, END OF 2ND STRIP GOING

THROUGH 1ST AND THEN BACK THROUGH THE 2ND'S END (BOX KNOT).

6. PULL STRIPS APART GENTLY.

7. CONTINUE TO CONNECT YOUR STRIPS.

8. WIND LOOSELY AS TO NOT  SQUISH THE "PLARN"
